Fieldman is about reclaimed freedom—the ability to explore, imagine, and create. The name itself holds dual meaning: on one hand, a "field man" represents the everyday person—someone out in the world, working hard to make a living. On the other hand, it speaks to the deep and complicated history I come from.

I never knew him, but my great-grandfather was a field man—forced to pick the very fiber I now use to create: cotton. There is something powerful in reclaiming that material, in turning it into art and a livelihood. The opportunities I have today were not afforded to those who came before me—not that long ago, just two or three generations past.

Fieldman is my love letter to them. It is the realization of a dream they couldn’t live—a chance to craft something with intention and skill, to see both the work and the person behind it honored with respect.

Fieldman is also an exploration. An uncovering of self and desire. It imagines the thoughts of someone in the fields, dreaming of every place they’d rather be, dressed in their finest for the occasion, a smile on their face. It is fantasy, yet medicine to their reality. A story of reclamation. A vision of possibility.
